Join Jennifer Wu, Canon Explorer of Light, in Yosemite National Park for three days of photographing spring waterfalls and breathtaking scenery. Whether your interest lies in the grand landscapes of Yosemite Valley, spectacular waterfalls or the majesty of El Capitan, Yosemite offers a wide range of image making possibilities. Jennifer will take you to her favorite spots, including some lesser know locations, to create beautiful images.
Each day will feature photography sessions during the ideal light of sunrise and sunset. During these sessions Jennifer will do quick demonstrations on topics such as how to use flash fill and reflectors to modify the light. During the day we will go to the classroom and you will learn composition for landscape photography. To balance out the incredible weekend, Jennifer will provide critiques of your images with feedback on what you did well and what could be improved.
We will explore the grandest scenery both by day and night. Photographing the classic views of the valley and Half Dome will be enhanced by the beautiful blooming dogwood flowers and vivid green meadows of the spring season. Waterfalls are abundant, ranging from powerful torrents to wispy delicate falls overflowing from the winter snowmelt. The full moon will be rising at sunset and we have timed the workshop for that as well as the moonbow (rainbow created by the moon). Weather permitting; we will photograph the grand landscape and moonbow at night. Yosemite in spring is magnificent and it is an exciting time to be in the valley!
