With a very long career in filmmaking; Schreiber learned to be efficient, think on her feet, and embrace technology. Today's shortened schedules, budgets, and technologies can be challenging, but Schreiber knows that one must adapt to survive and thrive. She started out shooting 35mm, owned an Aaton 16mm, and early on, when documentaries began to be shot on Beta SP, she learned video and became proficient at lighting for the medium. She has never been a snob about gear and technology. She has embraced change, not because of trends or price; because different technologies will work better for different projects.
Nancy will discuss her life transitioning from psychology to electrician to best boy to gaffer; she was the first female gaffer to join New York’s NABET LOCAL 15. She worked her way up thru camera; becoming a Member of the American Society of Cinematographers. Schreiber has over 109 films and TV programs to her credit, as well as over 100 music videos.
