EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Photographer Jami Tarris will join us on Wednesday, August 15 at 7:00 pm and take us on an exciting journey all over the world. While on this journey, she will talk to us about her life as a professional nature photographer and take us behind the scenes. Her topics will include wildlife, landscapes, conservation and aerial photography.

Jami’s imagery will transport us to remote areas covering several continents. She will share some of her and her husband’s secrets about their wildlife and landscape photography. She will tell us how to capture action and anticipate mammal behavior. She will share intimate details on how to survive in the bush as a nature photographer and the challenges that she and her husband face being isolated and alone for months at a time. Photographs illustrating the quality of light will confirm the importance of “waiting it out”. Jami will tell us what equipment she uses and how to capture surprising images that are dangerous to photograph. Her real-life encounters with wildlife will help us understand what it is to be a true professional nature photographer. Do you want to know how the pros get their shots? Join us for an entertaining and educational evening that will hopefully inspire you to get back to nature.
